Do you want to learn how to be a confident public speaker and strong leader or maybe have something that you are passionate about that you would like to share? If so, this buds for you.
This is an open learning environment (the location is the mezzanine of a licensed pub) and this allows you to achieve your goals at your own pace. Or something like that.
..... My good friend Jenner and I wanted to join Toastmasters, to learn how to public speak without feeling like crying (that's her reaction) or going into a tunnel like black out complete (that's mine).
Unfortunately the times, costs and rules of Toastmasters don't work for either of us at this time in our lives. To be perfectly honest it was far too much structure for us wild mares. We also get very few excuses to get ''out''. And thus like the renegades that we are, we have instead decided to start our own little group and make our own rules. And we are really excited about this.
If you're interested:
You can have a glass of wine (hence the name Taste-Meisters) if you like...
No pressure environment.
We are meeting this Thursday night at 8pm at Central.
Everyone is going to be given the opportunity to speak for 5 minutes on an open topic; anything that you are passionate about is fair game this week.
If you want to come this week and not speak that's OK. You can listen. Jenner and I both have a lot of experience public speaking in front of just each other and your participation would really help us up our game. Listen, speak, hangout; we would love to see you there.
Also feel free to invite anyone else who would like to buffer up their public speaking skills.
Hit me at 250 826 4348 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Toast to you taste-meister,
